Miguel de Armas meets Wojtek Justyna TreeOh! is a high-energy musical encounter where Afro-Latin traditions, deep groove, and fearless improvisation are at the forefront. The project unfolds as a fiery dialogue between legendary Cuban-born pianist and composer Miguel de Armas—a foundational figure in modern Afro-Cuban jazz, recognized for his work with globally influential acts such as N.G. La Banda and Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco—and the internationally acclaimed world-jazz/funk ensemble Wojtek Justyna TreeOh!. Rooted in the fusion of jazz and Afro-Cuban music, funk, and world influences, this co-led collaboration brings together original compositions from both sides into a vibrant, deeply musical live experience grounded in shared creation.

Miguel de Armas is a Havana-born pianist and composer blending Afro-Cuban traditions with modern jazz. A founding member of NG La Banda, he has appeared at major festivals including the Montreux Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival & Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, and collaborated with legends such as Gilberto Gil, Ivan Lins, Clark Terry, and Hermeto Pascoal. Now based in Canada, he is known for his commanding presence and vital role in contemporary Afro-Cuban jazz.


Wojtek Justyna TreeOh! fuses the raw energy of funk-jazz with the colors and textures of world music. After extensive international touring with three acclaimed groove-driven albums, collaborations with Larry Goldings and Jamal Thomas, and performances at renowned festivals worldwide including TD Niagara Jazz Festival, Jazz in Daegu, and Jazzfest Kolkata, the band has earned a reputation as an electrifying live act full of dynamics and fiery interplay between the band members.
